Wilma L. “Tootsie” Burris, 83, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday December 17, 2014 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1931, in Oak Grove Community, daughter of William Chester and Alice Venable Johnson. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Free Will Baptist Church and Mt. Vernon Quilting Club. She cared for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don Burris, 2 brothers, Dolan Johnson and infant child, 3 sisters, Audra Powers, Betty Powers and Nona Baker. She is survived by her son, Jerry and wife Theresa Burris; daughter, Jannie and husband Dennis Condley; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Dalton and wife Shirley Johnson, Don and wife Wilma Johnson; 2 sisters and brother in law; Glenda and Bill Duvall, Lorene Rackley; grandchildren, Whitney and Jeremy Dodd, Greg and Jessica Condley, Jeffery and Patty Burris, Jordan and Lezlie Burris; great grandson, Jayce Burris; sisters-in-law, Hazel Burris and Pat Coffman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 2:00 PM, Friday, December 19, at Mt. Vernon Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Burris and Rev. Earl Stapleton officiating. Burial is in St. Joe Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday. Pallbearers are Stephen Duvall, Brian Johnson, Keith Bowden, Eric Duvall, Jordan Burris, Greg Condley, Jeffery Burris, Jeremy Dodd,Mike Rackley and Wesley Duvall.
