Charlie Ward Obituary

Charlie C. Ward Jr., 76, of Clinton passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at his home. Born October 4, 1938 in Barton, New Mexico to the late Charlie C. and Trudy D. Price Ward, Charlie was a U.S. Air Force veteran and construction contractor before retirement. Charlie enjoyed woodworking, building things, and tinkering with anything to make it work. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family and his Baptist faith. A favorite memory of Charlie is the way his eyes lit up to see anyone in his family and being the best husband, father, grandfather and friend he could be. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, L. Darleen Ward; daughter Tamara Elliott; two sons, Charlie C. Ward III and Darwyn K. Ward; one sister, Viola Roach; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; his faithful companion Tinker Bell, his Chihuahua and many other nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Charlie is proceeded in death by his parents; four sisters, Maxine Manley, Molly Mills, Anabell Estrada and Julia Oldfield; and one son, Corwyn Gaylyn Ward. The family will host a life celebration at Charlie's home at a date to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Clinton Funeral Service of Clinton.
