Julia Etta Standridge

On Monday, May 25, 2020, our mother, Julia Etta Standridge, just 18 days shy of her 91st birthday, received her crown of righteousness from her Lord, the righteousness Judge. She had fought a good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Timothy 4:7-8). She studied to show herself approved as she taught the adult Sunday School for 35 plus years and was a leader and coordinator of many programs through out her life. She learned from her daddy the joy of reading and singing, which she did all her life. The greatest trait that her parents taught her was how important family was and how to love them. This area we feel she deserves an A+. Spending time with her family, enjoying family trips and gatherings was the highlight of her year. A thought she had heard during a funeral service once and often quoted “It’s not the beginning and ending dates on the headstone but what’s between the dashes”, she lived and loved between the dashes. Julia is preceded in death by her parents, George, and Bertha Collins; 2 brothers, Alexandra Collins, George “Milo” Collins; 1 sister, Valoria “Babe” Smith; 1 grandson, Erric Biggs and 1 son-in-law, David Biggs. We know many former co-workers, church family and friends will think of and remember her, but the ones that will miss her the most is her family. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Kenneth Marlin (Berniece) of Sikeston, Missouri, Howard Standridge of Scotland, Arkansas; 1 daughter, Linda McAllister (Rick) of Scotland, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, Gwen Carter, Jenifer Helper and Kenny Marlin, all of Sikeston, Missouri, Aaron Biggs, Rebecca Haney and Bryan Biggs all of Scotland, Arkansas; 17 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Richard Collins Sr. of Scotland, Arkansas; 4 sisters, Jackie Felton, Aletha Galbraith, Roxanne Bramlett of Clinton, Arkansas and Brenda Hammons of Bertrand, Missouri and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Scotland Lighthouse Church with Shelia Gardner officiating.
