Billy Gene Coleman, 90, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on July 2, 2017 in his home. He was born on September 27, 1926 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Gus O. and Sybil (Goff) Coleman. He was a retired veteran of both the Navy and Army and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the American Legion in Oklahoma City, Post# 0213 and the Choctaw Veteran Association. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann Coleman. Graveside services with full military honors will be 10:00AM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at the U.S. National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is survived by two sons, Billy D. Coleman and his wife Ruth and Bobby G, Coleman and his wife Martha both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Christi Mathews and her husband Derek and Carrie Hill both of Fort Smith, AR, Alex Coleman of Conway, AR and Nick Coleman and his wife Marika of Richardson, TX and six great grandchildren, Noah and Jeremiah Mathews, Coleman and Chloe Hill and Wyatt and Lucy Coleman.
