Dorothy R. Wight, 91, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in her home. She was born on January 8, 1927 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Henry and Violet (Dyer) White. She was the co-owner and vice president of Wight Office Machines, a member of the South 46th Street Church of Christ, a graduate of Fort Smith High School, a member of the Fort Smith Musical Coterie and former member of the Rose Society and the Fort Smith Garden Club. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Marion Wight and a brother, David White. Funeral service is 10AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home in Fort Smith with burial to follow in Roselawn Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Wight of Fort Smith, AR; one son, Michael Wight and his wife Deborah of Fort Smith, AR; a granddaughter, Lindsay Wight of Fort Smith, AR and one sister, Jayne McNew of Tulsa, OK. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hope Humane Society, 3800 Kelley Highway, Fort Smith, AR 72904.
