Dwight Douglas Tibbett, 70, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 in his home. He was born on February 19, 1947 in Morrilton, AR. He was a veteran of both the Army and the Air Force and retired from the 188th Air National Guard. Dwight also was a retired tool and die maker from Trane Corporation, the past president of the UAW 716 and a member of Flight Masters. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services are 11:00AM, Friday, September 22, 2017 at Temple Baptist Church with burial with honors to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is survived by his wife Connie of the home; two daughters, Kristy Tibbett and Kerry Edwards both of Fort Smith, AR; a brother, Bill Ray Tibbett of Oklahoma City, OK and two grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Thursday, September 21st at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church Outreach Program, 5100 South 31st Street Fort Smith, AR 72901.
