Gary Charles Hickerson, 71, of Fort Smith, AR passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 in a Little Rock hospital. He was born on November 12, 1946 in Fort Smith to Charles and Fern (Repass) Hickerson. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War serving as an aircraft radio repairman. After the service he was a self-employed electronics repairman He was a member of Arkoma Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service is at 1:00PM, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial with honors to follow in the U.S. National Cemetery, in Fort Smith. He is survived by two sisters, Elois “Jeannie” Fitting of Fort Smith and Janice Richardson of Arkoma, OK; a niece, Payton DeLeon of Bixby, OK and a great nephew, Hudson Edwards of Bixby, OK. Pallbearers are Jim Christenberry, Darrell Fuller, Jimmy Hickerson, John Harris and Bill Kaleta. The family will visit with relatives and friends from 5-7PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home.
