James Otwell

James William Otwell, Jr., 79, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born on February 1, 1940 in Fort Smith to James W. and Hattie (Canada) Otwell. He was a retired U.S. Air Force Veteran serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. James was of the Christian faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Doreen May Otwell, a son, James Stanley Otwell, four sisters, Patricia Smith, Margaret, Ola Juanita and Carolyn Elaine Otwell and a Baby Brother. James hobbies were fishing singing and dancing and loved all three. Funeral service is 10:00AM, Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home Chapel with cremation to follow the service. Burial will be at a later date in Dawson Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5-7PM on Tuesday, March 19th at the funeral home. He is survived by three daughters, Margaret McKinney of Vancouver, WA, Bernadette Plymale of Fort Smith, AR and Charlotte Cabrera of Van Buren, AR; three sisters, Gloria Boyster of Hackett, AR, Negretta Dye and her husband William of Greenwood, AR and Charlotte Boyster and her husband Henry of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, John Otwell and his wife Betty of Fort Smith, AR; nine grandchildren, Ashley Harris, Rachel and Bronte McKinney, James White, Austin, Brittany and Jordan Plymale, Meghan Wise and Nicholas Chandler; twelve great grandchildren, Sarah, Dustie, Ashlyn and Tramen Harris, Aaron and his wife Hope Harris, Tristian and Joslin Petree; Cash, Caid and Payne Plymale, Autumn Wise and Michael Chandler and four great great grandchildren, Tyson, Laiklyn, Easton and Jacelyn. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Ann, Eva, Jennifer, Betty, Patty and Heart of Hospice for their wonderful care.
