Peggy King Obituary

Peggy Jean Kelley King, 83, of Fort Smith, passed away on December 15, 2017 in a local nursing home. She was born on March 10, 1934 in Meridian, Mississippi. She was a resident of Petal, Mississippi for 50 years where she was an active member in Calvary Baptist Church. Peggy was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved volunteering at the hospital, the March of Dimes, cooking, crocheting and playing the piano. Peggy came to Fort Smith to be closer to her family after her husband’s passing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her parents, Herman E. and Alma Kelley and one brother, David L. Kelley. Graveside services are 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Roseland Park Cemetery in Hattiesburg, MS. Graveside services are under the direction of Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg, MS. The family will visit with friends from 2-4 on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is survived by her son, Edward Pittman King, Jr. and his wife Connie of Onalaska, TX, a daughter, Karen Farris and her husband Mack of Fort Smith, AR, four grandsons, Brett and Daniel Cooper, Lee J. Farris and Russell King and eight great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 2408 S 51st Ct. Ste F Fort Smith, AR 72901.
