Mr. Howard Wayne Sorrells, resident of Cotton Plant, Arkansas, departed this life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Unity Health White County Medical Center in Searcy at the age of 81. Howard was born in Hunter on April 22, 1939, the son of Paul Sorrells and Edith Mae (Jones) Sorrells-Morrison. Howard worked as a farmer, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ulm. He enjoyed gardening and took great pride in tending to his yard. Mr. Sorrells was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alice (Engelmann) Sorrells of the home; a son, Phillip Wayne Sorrells and wife, Tricia, of Cabot; two daughters, Sandy Beaman of Jonesboro, and Linda Maciolek and husband, Stan, of Lewisburg, Tennessee; two stepsons, Lonnie Ray Gibson, Jr. and wife, Kathline, of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Marty Allen Gibson and wife, Lisa, of Lafayette, Louisiana; a stepdaughter, Daphnie Vega and husband, Duke, of Fredricksburg, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; a multitude of great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
