Billie D. Stanford

Billie D. Stanford, 92, of McGehee, AR passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018. Billie was born on November 18, 1925 in McGehee, AR to the late Garland and Lucy Cherry Chennault. She was a past member of Amaranth, Order of Eastern Star, McGehee Riding Club and McGehee Bowling Club. Billie was an avid gardener and loved to work in her yard. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McGehee, AR. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Buddy” Stanford; grandson that she raised as her son, Bill Wilson Stanford; sisters, Lillian Tuller and Frankie Nichols. Survivors include her daughters, June Stanford, currently of McGehee, AR and Cherry Babin of Monticello, AR; sisters, Margaret Phillips of Ft. Hill, AR and Pam Melton of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Alan Smith, John D. Smith and Lana Craig; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Visitation will be 9:00 am Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at First Baptist Church in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will follow at 10:00 am at the church with Dr. Ed Balducci officiating. Burial will follow at McGehee Cemetery.
