Ellis Kirby Finch

Ellis Kirby Finch, 87, of Furlow, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020. Kirby was born in Furlow, Arkansas on September 1, 1932 to the late Bead and Jewell Clement Finch. Kirby graduated class of 1950 from Lonoke High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Kirby drove a milk truck for Coleman Dairy and a fish truck for Anderson’s Minnow Farm, until he began farming for himself. He also worked as a Deputy Clerk for his wife, Myrtle Finch in the Lonoke County Clerk’s office. Kirby enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He loved his kids, his grandkids and St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. Kirby was a member at Concord United Methodist Church where he served as a long term Superintendent and the Joe DePriest Sunday School Class. He also served on the Concord cemetery association. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Myrtle Finch; son, Dayne Finch; brothers, Pat Finch, Burt Finch and Bennie Finch and his sister, Ruth Martineau. Survivors include his sons, Steve (Linda) Finch of Furlow, AR, Nick (Judy) Finch of Palestine, AR and Shayne (Lesa) Finch of Lonoke, AR; daughters, Laura Lee (Chuck) Rooney of Ward, AR and Lynn (Johnny) Edwards of McGehee. AR; sister, Anna Woody of Little Rock, AR; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Private Graveside Services will be held at Concord Cemetery in Lonoke, AR. Memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery Fund, 436 Furlow Loop, Lonoke, AR 72086.
