Hunter "Bear" Dale Patterson Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Hunter “Bear” Dale Patterson announces his passing. Bear Patterson, 21, of McGehee, Arkansas left this earthly life and joined his loved ones who went before him on August 11, 2019. Hunter was born on August 3, 1998 to Beth and the late Kevin Patterson. He was a beloved member of the McGehee High School class of 2016. Hunter grew up at the baseball field where he played everything from pitcher to catcher and a variety of infield positions. From the age of eight years old, his “titty high” stature, big boy syndrome shined on the football field. As one of the smallest players out there, he feared no one. He was coached by his deceased dad and many other father-like figures throughout his life. Some of his favorite memories were playing underneath the Friday night lights with his “brothers”. Bear never met a stranger, and his absolute favorite thing was finding any way to aggravate everyone who loved him. Bear loved spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, riding dirt roads, riding four-wheelers, and working on the farm. He worked off and on for Daniel French at Willow French Farm Partnership for around 6 years. As a young teenager he started pulling weeds and laying pipe and just two weeks ago at only 20 years old, he earned the title of farm manager. Bear was preceded in death by his dad, Kevin Patterson and maternal grandparents, Dennis and Pat Peacock. He is survived by his mother Beth and step-dad, Brandon Evans, a sister Katelyn Rabb (Brad), a brother, Blake Patterson, and a sister Kelsie Morris (Chad), paternal grandparents, Herman and Linda Patterson. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, Sophie Rabb and Anistyn and Easton Morris. Bear will also be remembered and missed by a number of uncles, aunts, cousins, and an endless number of friends. Visitation will be held at 2:00-3:00pm on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the church with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will be held at McGehee Cemetery.
