James Shelby Hunt 82, of McGehee, AR passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015 in McGehee, AR. James was born in Judsonia, Arkansas on July 12, 1933 to the late Henry Lanson and Mary Hicks Hunt. James worked as an auto mechanic until June of 2015. He also served as the voice of Southeast Arkansas for almost 40 years at KVSA. He was a member and a deacon at Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church in Winchester, AR

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 sons, Mark Hunt, David Hunt, and Michael Hunt. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hunt of McGehee, AR; daughter, Linda Tedder and her husband, Loyd of Dumas, AR; granddaughters, Kim Wilkins Williams and her husband, Aaron of Dermott, AR and Melanie Wilkins Harvey and her husband, Russell of Dumas, AR; great-grandchildren, A.J. Williams of Dermott, AR, Heather Greenlee of Pine Bluff, AR, and Kirk Harvey of Dumas, AR; great-great granddaughter, Carly Greenlee of Pine Bluff, AR.

Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee, AR with Aaron Williams and Andy Williams officiating. Burial will be at Hopedale Cemetery in Winchester, AR.
