Lewis Raymond Hyatt, 90, of McGehee, AR passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. Mr. Hyatt was born in Herbine, AR on September 23, 1925 to the late Thomas Alonzo and Elma Victoria Holderfield Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during WWII on the USS Mobile battleship. He was part of the Admiral Nimitz task force arriving in Nagasaki, Japan eight days after the atom bomb was dropped. He worked for Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation for thirty-eight years before retiring the first time. After his official retirement, he served as a consultant for Texas Eastern until 2010. He loved to hunt and play golf.<br/>Other than his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Odell Hyatt and Rex Hyatt; sisters, Maxine Rauls and Ione Petroff. <br/>Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joan Duren Hyatt of McGehee, AR. son, Chris Hyatt and his wife Tisha of Bagley, WI; daughters, Dana Hyatt of Dallas, TX and Michelle Hyatt Spencer and her husband John of McGehee, AR.; grandchildren, Ryan and Carey Spencer of Ft. Worth, TX, Sara Whitney and Kyle Phillips of McGehee, AR, and Sam Hyatt of Plattville, WI; great-grandchildren, Cash Spencer, Reed Spencer and Spencer Phillips.<br/>A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday at First Presbyterian Church of McGehee, AR. with Rev. Terry Talent officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 302 N. 4th Street, McGehee, AR 71654.
