Margie Dean Powell Box, 82, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019. Margie was born in Parkdale, Arkansas on March 30, 1937 to the late Henry Scott and Grace Davis Powell. She worked as an AT&T operator for 25 years until her retirement. Margie loved her family dearly. She loved to laugh and tell funny stories. Margie enjoyed watching all sports, but was a passionate Arkansas Razorback fan. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McGehee, AR. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hanson Box; brothers, Frank Powell, Jim Powell, Ben Powell, Bill Powell and H. S. Powell and sister, Tommye Garza. Survivors include her sons, James Dean Box, Sr. of West Helena, AR and Michael Scott Box of Conway, AR; daughter, Stacy (Larry) Potter of Pine Bluff, AR; sisters, Mary Gardner of San Francisco, CA, Mattie Moore of Bastrop, LA and Shirley Sadler of Parkdale, AR; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial will be at McArthur Cemetery in McArthur, AR.
