Marie B. Owens, 81, of Dermott, AR passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in Little Rock, AR. She was born on March 2, 1934 in Gentry, AR to the late Hollis R. and Grace Wiles Bailey. Marie was a retired bookkeeper for Chicot County Farmers Association, Parker Lumber Company, Western Auto of Dermott, AR and HUD in Dermott, AR. She loved to crochet, cross stitch, and work jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Marie was a member of Dermott Baptist Church in Dermott, AR.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Bailey and her sister, Betty Arnn. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ovid E. “Buddy” Owens, Jr; daughters, Patricia (Bob) Ballard of East Alton, IL, Joy (Clayton) Lagrone of Monticello, AR, Marsha (Gail) Clements of Canyon, TX; son, Ovid E. “Eddie” Owens III; sisters, Faye Patterson of Hazen, AR and Mary Jo Patterson of Wewahitchka, FL; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 9-10am Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Dermott Baptist Church in
Dermott, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 10am Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Dermott Baptist Church in Dermott, AR with Rev. Steve Tiner, Rev Jerry Starnes, and Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Burial will be at Dermott Cemetery in Dermott, AR.
