Mrs. Fera Westbrook Brown of St. Louis, MO, departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the age of 83. She was born June 29, 1934 in Greenville, Mississippi, the daughter of Johnny Westbrook and Mary Croals. She married Mr. L.D. Brown in 1961. She moved to Newport as a young lady. Mrs. Brown was a devoted wife, and viewed her brothers and sisters in law as the siblings she never had. Mrs. Brown enjoyed shopping and being with her family. She was an usher at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church many years until failing health forced her to quit. She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Nettie Brown. Mrs. Brown is survived by four brothers in law, Bobby C. Brown and companion, Brenda Laden, of St. Louis, MO, R. J. Brown of St. Louis, MO, Dan H. Brown Jr. and wife, Lynn, of Jacksonville, and Willie Brown of Newport; two sisters in law, Shirley Brown Williams and husband, Eddie, of Newport and Mae Brown Dupens and husband, Alvin, of Newport; two aunts, Scipio Brown Anders, of Newport and Willie Mae Anders Raney, of Poplar Bluff, MO; many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 a .m. until service time. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Eddie Williams, Levi Anders, Henry Brown, Herbert Borders, Jerry Brown, and Alvin Dupens, Jr. A repass will be held at the home of Eddie and Shirley Williams, 2809 Kimberly Street, Newport, AR 72112
