Kyle Sanders Obituary

Mr. Kyle Sanders of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the age of 78. He was born March 12, 1939, in China Springs, Texas, the youngest of two sons born to Larvis Gerald and Violet Novelle (Baker) Sanders. Kyle joined the U.S. Navy in 1957, serving for six years. He was a devoted member of the Cherokee Street Church of Christ where he led singing and served as the church treasurer. He was a faithful student of the Bible and spent much time studying while waiting in the car line to pick up his daughter, Kylee. The Sander’s children and grandchildren credit the Christian example set by Kyle and Shirley as one of the things that led them to be Christians. Kyle worked for Union Pacific Railroad as a Road Master for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Enjoying retirement to the fullest, he played golf for the next 3 years, until he decided it was time to return to work. Kyle then began working at Wal-Mart as a greeter for the next seven years. He was a member of the Village Creek Golf Club where he spent many hours playing golf with friends. Kyle enjoyed life to the fullest, he was always a man filled with joy and happiness. This happiness he shared with many children who came through his home, who fondly remember him as “Papa Kyle.” His greatest love in life was his family. The only thing bigger than Kyle Sander’s smile was his heart. This gentle, loving man will be remembered and missed by so many, but none more than his family. Kyle was preceded in death by one daughter, Lorri Sanders on August 25, 2013; and by his parents, Larvis Gerald Sanders and Violet Novelle (Baker) Sanders Dockery. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Shirley Ann Dunn Sanders of the home; his children, Kyle Wayne Sanders and wife, Shannon, of Jonesboro, and Troy Willis and wife, Dena, of McRae, Anthony Sanders of Newport, Lisa Sanders of Jonesboro, and Kylee Sanders of Newport; one brother, Larvis Dale Sanders and wife, Joyce, of Waco, Texas;favorite sister, Janice Free and husband, Robbie, of Bradford; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and a lifetime of friends.
