Mrs. Pauline (Kinder) Calhoun of Swifton, Arkansas, departed this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the age of 76. She was born August 19, 1940, at Swifton, the daughter of E.B. and Eula (Nelson) Kinder. Mrs. Calhoun was a 1959 graduate of Cash High School. On September 29, 1961, Miss Pauline Kinder married Mr. Eulice E. Calhoun. Together they spent 55 years, and raised their family in Swifton. Mr. Calhoun preceded her in death on April 5, 2017. Mrs. Calhoun loved cooking and sewing, making the best pecan pie. For many years, she spent time working at her brother’s store, Joe’s Grocery, cooking chicken and dumplings for Thursday lunch. She loved spending time with her family, and was a member of New Hope Community Church. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Calhoun was preceded in death by one son, Perry Keith Calhoun; one granddaughter, Crystal Birmingham; three brothers, Carl Kinder, Ray Kinder, and Joe Kinder; and seven sisters, Ruby Benson, Lola Mae Kinder, Joyce Kinder, Alma Benson, Lois Self, Alice Brewer, and Faye Keaster. She is survived by three daughters, Pamela Keller and husband, Bobby, of Tuckerman, Penny Birmingham and husband, Steve, of Strawberry, and Robyn Calhoun of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Eric Keller and wife, Faustina, Keith Keller and wife, Becca, Shannon Smith and wife, Mary Ann, Haley Pfeiffer and husband, Dustin, and Sadye Calhoun; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at New Hope Community Church, with interment following in Dowell’s Chapel Cemetery.
