Teammate, coach, and friend Wendell Harold “Dutch” Noe, of Harrisburg passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013. “Dutch” was born July 16, 1941 in Mondale, Ohio to Lester and Pearl Noe. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lester and Pearl (Santie) Noe, three brothers: Darrell, Dean and Gary Noe, and two sisters: Maxine Roney and Betty Dye. Dutch graduated from Arkansas State College in 1966, there he played football and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. He coached football in Harrisburg and Corning Arkansas and Hannibal, Missouri for several years. Dutch also worked in Harrisburg as Branch Manager and Vice –President of Unico Bank for ten years. Dutch was founder, owner, and started the business of Ducks and Ducks Inc., in the mid 1980’s as a hobby and worked for it twenty-five years. Dutch was as active member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg for many years. He really enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Dutch a loving husband and father, is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Collins Noe, two daughters: Nancy and husband George Osborn of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Kim and husband Rex Vines of Wynne, Arkansas, five grandchildren: Caleb and wife Courtney Osborn, Jacob, and Lydia Osborn, Luke and Matt Vines, two great grandsons: Gunnar and Ethan Osborn, three brothers: John Noe of Newburn, Tennessee, Donald Noe of Centennial, Colorado, and Kenny Noe of Andover, Illinois, two sisters: Louise Headley of Mauldin, Missouri and Marie Forrest of Flint, Michigan, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bro. Captain Lovell and Bro. Kelly Jones will officiate the service. The following men will serve as active pallbearers: Truman Moore, Don Campbell, Billy Joe Bailey, Bryan Caplinger, Bill Harrison, Tommy Reese, Tim Kean, and Tom Clark. A Celebration of Dutch’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg on Sunday, March 17 with visitation Saturday, March 16 from 5:00~8:00 P.M. at Jackson’s Harrisburg Funeral Home.
