Apisalome Tamanalevu

Apisalome (Pisa) Tamanalevu, 63, passed away on January 17th, 2017 in Sacramento, CA. Pisa was born and also hailed from Lomanikoro, Nakasaleka, Kadavu to Asena and William Tamana on November 6th, 1953. He is the oldest of 5 siblings, Titilia, Jonati, Lani and Luca. He lived with his family in Namaka, Nadi, where he also attended Namaka Primary school. He then married Matelita Titilia from Matuku Lau, on 7 July, 1973 in Nadi, Fiji. Together they had 7 beautiful children, Ilai, Jese, Vili, Vodo, Asena, Brent and Pisa Jr. Pisa started his first job at the Piggery farm in Vesari, Fiji and then worked at the following establishments R.M.K Supermarket, J. S Hill construction where he finally started his career in security at the American Embassy in Suva, Fiji. He later migrated to the U.S in 1986 and worked as a security guard at the Latter Day Saints Temple in Oakland, CA additionally as security guard at the Kaiser Permanent hospital in Hayward, CA. He moved with his family to Sacramento CA in 1998 and finally worked as a Security Supervisor at Sacramento Job Corps for the past 19 years where he really enjoyed working with students and the staff members of Job Corps. He has dedicated most of his life in serving the lord. He was actively involved in his church and served as the Ward Mission leader, Marshallese Ward presidency and Fijian Unit presidency. Pisa loved serving the lord through missionary work and loved his 14 grandchildren unconditionally. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 28th, 2017, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 6711 Seasons Drive, Elk Grove, CA 95758. Viewing beginning at the 8:30 - 9:45am. Burial will follow at SouthEast Lawn Memorial Park, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624. Arrangements by Herberger Family Elk Grove, Funeral Home.
