Daisy Lee Johnson Barrick, a resident of Elk Grove for 57 years. Passed away June 3, 2015 at the age of 88.
She was born February 20, 1927 in Watson, Oklahoma to Cleve and Mae Johnson and was 1 of 11 children.
At the age of 15, Daisy married Earl Barrik and they had two children while he served in the Army during World War II.
After Earl was discharged from the Army, they moved to California and resided in the little town of Galt. There, they had 3 more children while Earl worked on a ranch.
In 1958, they moved to Elk Grove and bought their first home on Bruceville Rd., where Daisy continued to live until she had a stroke in January 2012; At that time she moved to Bruceville Terrace, where she resided until her death.
Daisy did seasonal work so she could be with her children. After the children grew up, she studied to become a CNA and worked at Royal Oaks Convalescent home for 15 years before she retired.
Daisy was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved the outdoors and was always working in her yard and taking care of the animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, several brothers, her husband, son Larry and granddaughter Ammie.
She leaves behind one daughter and three sons, eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.
