Edna Nix

Edna Rose (Carver) Nix, longtime resident of Wilton, died July 15, 2017 at the age of 87. Born on August 16, 1929 in El Dorado County where she lived until she married the love of her life Robert Lee Nix on November 15, 1948. Once they settled in Wilton, Edna was a homemaker raising their six boys. As an avid gardener, she hosted many a garden party showing off her beautiful flowers - that are still maintained today. As an active member of the Wilton Bible Church, Edna sang in the choir from the 1950s, through 1970s and was extremely active working in the nursery (when her boys were young) and teaching Sunday school. In later years, after all the boys were grown, Edna and Robert enjoyed traveling in their motor home visiting many of the states across the United States. Edna is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Nix of nearly 63 years, brother Harold Carver, sisters Mae Thompson, Bertha Aus, Eva Rooney, and Isabelle Leytham and grandson Justin Nix. She is survived by her sister Mary Lewin and sons Allen (Cathy), Jerry (Teresa), Lester (Roxanne), Ralph (Jean), Edward (Christy) and David. Edna is also survived by 11 grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will take place Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10am at the Wilton Bible Church, 9697 Dillard Road, Wilton. Visitation will be from Noon to 5pm on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove. Memorial donations may be made to the Wilton Bible Church.
