Glenn Zakrzewski

Born in Decatur Illinois to Jacob C Zakrzewski and Pearl (Reynolds) Zakrzewski. The family moved to the farm where Glenn grew up. He graduated from the Mount Pulaski Township High School in 1948. After graduation Glenn worked at the Lincoln Theatre where he met Wanda his future bride. Glenn went to work for the Decatur Army Depot. While employed at the Army Depot he was drafted for the Korean War. He served from October 02, 1951, through September 30, 1953. He was awarded 3 Bronze Stars. He returned to work for the Army Depot in Decatur Illinois as an Electrician. In 1961 he was transferred to the Sacramento California Army Depot as an electrician. He retired January 1986; the last 7 years he was Director for Administration and Services. Glenn is survived by Wanda (Gibbons) Zakrzewski, his wife of 64 years. They have 3 daughters; Linda (Bruce) Boyd, Pamela (Carl) Flatt, and Paula (Ronald) Bradwell, 6 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Glenn has 2 Nieces; Penny (Lonnie) King and Tara (Mardee) Van Hoorn. Glenn was preceded in Death by his parents Jacob and Pearl, his brother Joe and Joe's wife Jane. Glenn was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and neighbor. His sense of humor and ability to repair anything will be missed by all that knew him.
