Linda Mae (Mahon) Lema Linda Mae (Mahon) Lema passed away on September 29, 2015 after a short but very hard fought battle with a rare form of thyroid cancer. She was a fifth generation resident of Elk Grove and was proudly raised on the Mahon Ranch, founded in 1882. Linda dedicated much of her time to her family and preserving their heritage, which included continuing to contribute to the Elk Grove community. Linda was a best friend to many. She was kind, compassionate, determined, faithful, selfless and brave. She never faltered from those principles, which were cornerstones she learned from the generations before her. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester B. Mahon and Charlotte A. (Israel) Mahon. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David Lema, children Christopher and Michelle, daughter-in-law Chheavy Lema, granddaughter Christine Lema, and her three brothers Robert, Jack, and Tom Mahon. Family and friends are invited to a service on Monday October 5th at 10am. The service will be held at Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel located at 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95624. Interment to follow at the Elk Grove Cemetery in a historic family plot. A reception will be held at St. Joseph''s Parish Hall following interment. Remembrances may be made in Linda''s name to either the Elk Grove Historical Society at P.O. Box 562, Elk Grove, CA 95759 or the Discovery Shop of Elk Grove, American Cancer Society at 8470 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, CA 95758. She will be deeply missed, but her presence here on earth was so impactful to those around her that she will never truly leave us.
