Rodney Noble Elk Grove, California Obituary

Rodney Noble

Rodney Allen Noble was born March 13, 1950 in Carbondale, Illinois. He was the third of five children and one of three boys. He grew up in Southern California and attended Calvary Tabernacle Church. At seventeen he was employed by Noble Chapel where he worked as an apprentice. He married Nila Joy Nonamaker September 4, 1970. He graduated from the Los Angeles College of Mortuary Science in 1971. He worked in the funeral industry for 47 years in both Southern and Northern California. He was a well-respected embalmer and funeral director and spent most of his time serving the communities in which he lived and worked. His dream was to own his own funeral chapel and in 2000 he saw that dream come to fruition with Elk Grove Funeral Chapel. He was larger than life and had a deep love for people. He never knew a stranger and there was rarely a place he could go where someone didn’t know him or stop by to say “hello”. His personality proceeded him and his sense of humor and genuine warmth often made those around him feel at ease. He loved making people laugh and he was so very good at it. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Rather than say goodbye, we’ll simply say “until we see you again”. His wife and family were so important to him. The love he had for his children and grandchildren was unsurpassed. They truly were his pride and joy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nila. His son Brian, his daughter Christie and son in-law Anton, his son Dustin and daughter in-law Maria, and his daughter Ashley. His ten grandchildren Heather, Christa, Jenae, Quint, Keira, Elizabeth, Victoria, Adelynn, Ariana, and Josiah. His great grand-daughter Leana. His siblings Joyce, Dennis, Susan, and Wayne. Many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers’ in-law, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ruby Noble. A Funeral Service will be held at Herberger Family Elk Grove Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:30AM. 9101 Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove, California 95624
