Thomas Sadler HEMET, California Obituary

Thomas Sadler

Thomas Casil Sadler, 96 of Hemet, California passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born on Sunday, April 10, 1921 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to the late Caswell and Mary Jane Sadler and spent the first nineteen years of his life working the family farm. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Mintz; four grandchildren, Heather (Christopher), Shelby (Frankie), Milo (Summer), and Devin; and five great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen, in 2007, and by 13 brothers and sisters. He was the 8th child and first son born after seven sisters had been born to his parents. Thomas was a quiet, soft spoken man, with a big heart, a twinkle in his blue eyes, and always a friendly smile for everyone. More people than he realized were drawn to his kind and inviting personality. He was an active resident of Brookdale of Sunwest in Hemet for many years, becoming famous for his skills in beanbag baseball. He also loved to go fishing and hunting in his younger years with his brother-in-law. However, it was more for the joy of being outdoors with the peace and quiet of nature. Thomas also served honorably in the US Navy during WWII. Thomas was dearly loved, known to his family as their beloved “Poppy.” He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. “They just don’t make men like him anymore, and I was truly blessed to have him as my Dad,” his daughter said. “He is my hero.”
