Melissa Ann Bernard February 24, 1990 - May 18, 2013 Melissa went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Melissa was affectionately know as "Missy or Sissy" to friends and family. She is survived by her mother, Laurie Bernard; her brothers Nicholas Wadsworth and Ryan Bernard; both her grandparents; Paul and Carlene Bellinger; and John and Susan Bernard; her uncles; David and Paul Bernard; her aunts; Jennifer and Kimberly Gilo, and Samantha Bernard. She is also survived by her closest friend Shirley Bumgarner. From the moment Melissa entered out lives, she was a beautiful and gentle soul. She grew up in and around Riverside county, and attended Hemet High School. Four years ago she set out for Oregon and planned on trying to attend college at some point. She loved Portland with all it's scenic beauty. Melissa so enjoyed all things associated with nature. Melissa absolutely loved her family and spoke of them often. She was a joy to all and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10 a.m. for family and friends to celebrate her precious though short life.
