David Lucien Leveque Obituary

Dave Leveque: May 3, 1950-May 28, 2016

Dave was born May 3, 1950 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Lucien and Irene Leveque. He has six siblings; George, Valerie, Edward, Lorraine, Robert and Thomas.

Dave valued faith, family, friendship and baseball. A natural teacher and mentor, he taught the values of life through his example and service. Dave took a very active role in his children’s lives, coaching their sports teams while always adjusting his work schedule to be there for them. A saying that exemplifies Dave is that “He was always there.” That saying would be found true with his children, grandchildren, wife, brothers, sisters, friends and co-workers.

Dave attended Canoga Park High School and Valley State College. A very good athlete, he excelled in baseball where he was a member of Valley State’s 1970 National Championship baseball team. The 1970 Valley State baseball team was inducted into the CSUN Hall of Fame. He worked in the advertising and health insurance industries, working for California Broker Magazine and founding Dave Leveque Insurance Services. His work ethic set an example that hard work leads to success.

Dave is survived by his wife Rebecca and their children; Christopher, Timothy and Michael. He and his wife were inseparable and they set a high standard of what true love in action looks like. Always being there for each other, from good times to bad. Dave was also a grandfather 7 times over with Andrew, Matthew, Peter, James, Darien, Amari and Emma. The example he set for them will last generations.

Dave was a man with a big heart and selfless mindset. He will be missed but his life example will live forever.
