Luz P. Mojica Obituary

Luz P. Mojica, 100 yrs. 6 months old of Winnetka, CA, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Our family is appreciative of the loving final care given by the staff from Global Home Hospice. They have made her final moments more bearable. The family also would like to express our gratitude to our relatives and friends that were with us throughout the last few days of our mother’s life giving moral and emotional support, THANKS.

She leaves behind her children, Reynaldo, Ailene and Renato: daughters-in-law, Evelyn & Rowena; 10 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino.

Mama Lu, as she is fondly called by loved ones as well as her friends, had lived an amazing life. She loved to travel during her more active adult life and had always brought back great memories for her travel. One of the reasons that has helped her live a long life is her wonderful times she had spent at the Senior Center where she looked forward in participating in every event they had to offer. She played the piano and the organ and provided entertainment for the other Senior members of the center.

Her other secret for her long life…she did not eat vegetables!

Our family is glad we were able to celebrate her 100th Birthday where Mama Lu loved to have reached this milestone last September 2018.

Her prayer always centered on asking the Lord for a longer life so she can be with her family. To the end, her spirit was still strong but her physical body was just too weak. She passed away peacefully at 12:30 PM on March 12, 2019.

You will be able to view her remains at Crawford Mortuary, 8717 Tampa Avenue, Northridge, CA 91324 on Friday March 22, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday March 23, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Memorial Service to be held on 3/23/19 Saturday at 5:00 PM with Fr. Kevin Rettig.

Her remains will be cremated on 3/26/2019 but her interment schedule will be announced at a later date which will be held at the Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, CA.
