RANKIN, GILBERT WILLIAM, age 66 of Roseville, CA, passed away Sunday, April 14th, 2013 in Fairfield, CA at the Travis Air Force Base Hospital. Gilbert also known as Bill is survived by his wife, Alma, daughter and son in-law, Rebecca and Jeff, son and daughter in-law, Ty and Crystal, mother Wilma, brothers, Jack, Craig, Leonard, sister, Linda, grandchildren, Jamie, Kristy, Sarah, William, Scott, Evan, Cameron, Connor, Aarron, Cade, Decker, step children, Sandy, Jan, Susan, Polly and a large extended family who called him Grandpa Bill. He was born on September 22nd, 1946 in Sacramento, CA. He was a survivor of the Vietnam War and earned a Purple Heart. He worked for Mancini Corporation for 30 plus years. Bill was a dedicated husband loving father and son and a very loyal employee. He loved spending time with his family and sharing stories about history. Bill spread laughter and love wherever he went and he will be greatly missed. There will be a private viewing for the family on Tuesday April 23rd, from 4:00-7:00pm at Chapel of the Valley 97 Vernon St., Roseville. The service will be on Wednesday April 24th, at 1:00pm at the Roseville Cemetery, followed by a celebration of his life at Bayside Church, 6540 Sylvan Rd, Citrus Heights.
