GILLEY, LORRAINE, born Lorraine Lillian McCready in Schuyler, Nebraska on August 22, 1927 to parents David and Minnie McCready, Lorraine was the fourth of eight children with 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Beloved wife , mother, grandmother, and sister. Lorraine is survived by her husband of 66 years Rual Gilley, her 2 sons Michael and Gary, daughter Denise, granddaughter Andrea, great grandson Brennan, and sisters Patricia Segura and Darryl Rasmussen. She also leaves behind 2 daughters-in-law Beverly and Shirley, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Lorraine spent her youth in Nebraska before moving to Vacaville, California where she graduated from Vacaville High School, met the love of her life Rual and married him when she was 19. At the age of sixteen, she became the youngest person to work at Mare Island Naval Base. In later years, while raising 3 active children Lorraine spent many hours as a volunteer "Pink Lady" at Mercy San Juan Hospital and as a school librarian at several of the schools her children attended. A longtime resident of Lincoln, California she had a great love of family, books, sports and traveling with her family. Lorraine passed quietly on January 5, 2014 after long illness. A Memorial Service to be held at 10:00am on January 9, 2014 at Sacramento Valley VA National Cemetery 5810 Midway Road Dixon, California. There will be a reception to follow at the Dixon Cattleman's on Hwy 80 in Dixon, California.
