Ricardo Palafox Roseville, California Obituary

Ricardo Palafox

Ricardo H. Palafox On the morning of July 30, 2015 Ricardo was called home with his lord after a battle of cancer at the young age of 59. He was born in Sacramento, CA, but resided in Loomis, CA his entire life. As a child he was raised by his father working in the fruit orchards on Hansen Road in which he learned the importance of work ethic. Later he joined the Laborers 185 union working as a cement labor. He proudly completed 32 years in the union before retiring. He was a part of many projects including bridges, hospitals, airports, universities, and the Cathedral of Sacramento. He took pride in all his work whether it be at his job, home projects, or working on all his cars. His biggest passion was always cars and motorcycles. You would always find him working on his truck or riding his Harley. Most importantly he always liked to help others with his working hands. Even though many would describe him as a simple man he was proud of what he had and his biggest accomplishment was always his family. He was a loving husband to his wife Dolores of 28 years and devoted father to his three children Ricardo Jr. Rocio, and Raquel. He had a special bond with each one of his children in which they cherish, most importantly they remember him as the father that encouraged them in every life decision they made. In the past year Ricardo was diagnosed with colorectal cancer that had spread throughout his body. Ricardo never lost hope, faith, and determination of winning. He taught many a lesson of living surrounded by the ones who love you the most and of fighting till the very end because he never let cancer define him. Ultimately, he won his battle because now he is in a world with no cancer or pain. Ricardo had requested that instead of flowers, donations be made to any cancer research institute since a cure has yet to be found and many are in need of treatments. If there ever is a time in which the days may be dark plant a sunflower in his name and watch it blossom remembering there will always be brighter days and sunlight in every obstacle of life. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
