William Speakman

William Leland Speakman (5-8-22) - ( 2-10-14 ) Born in Absorkee Montana but spent most of his youth in Northern Mo. He was the second oldest of 12 children, all but 2 sisters have preceded him in death. Remaining siblings are Goldie Miller of Princeton Mo. and Carol Hulme of Knox IN. A WWII Veteran, he moved to Kansas City, Mo and started working at General Motors after the war. One night at a local dance he met Helen Lucile Moore. They married shortly after that meeting and he became father to her 6 year old boy, William Fowler Jr and together they had a daughter Joyce. They remained in Kansas City until 2000 when he and Helen moved to California to be near family. He lost her in 2001 after 52 years of marriage. His step-son William proceeded him in death but he lived with daughter Joyce Jones since coming to Ca. He had 4 grandchildren; Angela Kuns, Connie Laipple (Loren), Jennifer Beauchamp(Jason) and Justin Jones. Six great-grandchildren; Chelse Johnston, Mackenzie Laipple, Taylor Kuns, Zakary Kuns, Bryce Beauchamp, Kelsi Beauchamp and one great-great grandchild, Berkeley Joe Laipple. The family invites you to attend a graveside service 11:00am on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131.
