Ronald Gene Holmes, 75 years young, of San Jacinto, California journeyed home to Heaven on Thursday October 8th, 2015. He went peacefully at his home surrounded by family members. He was born Sunday, January 28th, in the year of our Lord 1940 in Fresno, California. Ronald was the son of the late John Webb Holmes and Freda LaVerne ( Walker ) Holmes. He preceded in death, his former wife Joyce Elaine Minniear of whom he was married to for over 20 years. Ronald proudly served our nation in the US Air Force from February 1, 1957 to July 31, 1958. Ronald is survived by, his two wonderful daughters, Monette Simone Holmes and Rhonda Elaine Holmes. He also raised a son named Richard Eugene Homes as his own. Although Ronald had lost contact with Richard, he never forgot him or stopped loving him. Ronald was a very talented singer, songwriter, and guitar player. Mr. Holmes even cut a couple of records in the late fifties. One of his songs was titled, "Somebody Else is Beating my Time, so Baby Quit Winding my Clock." Every single talent show he entered would land him the First Place prize. The crowds went wild!. He also loved to travel all over the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. A special memory was camping in Yosemite with Jan and Phil Sweet and their kids Lisa, Bobby, and Michael who grew up to be a very famous Christian rock band, Stryper. He also loved to travel to Stateline, Nevada and frequented Laughlin, Nevada with his daughters. In the last three years, Ronald had been to over 110 concerts. He is described as clever, creative, adventurous, caring, and very loving.
