Maria Gutierrez, 92, of Woodland, California, passed away peacefully at Woodland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 26, 2016, with family by her side. She was born October 22, 1923, in Chihuahua, Mexico and immigrated to the United States in 1959, making Woodland her home. Family was center of her life. Her greatest joy was to cook and feed all that came to her house, be it friends or family. She was a pillar of strength and her steadfast example will be with us always. She was preceded in death by daughters Velia Gutierrez and Elida Ramos and son Ramon Gutierrez. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Otilio Gutierrez, her children Isedora Gallardo, Jose (Martha) Gutierrez and Hector (Lynda) Gutierrez, ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11am, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, CA 95695. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church.
