Abel Alfred Salazar, 55, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 1, 2019. He was born on March 12, 1963 to Sergio and Sadie Salazar in Alamosa, Colorado. Abel loved God with all his heart. He showed that by being a member of the Feed Store Churches, where he was a devoted praise and worship team member for ten years. Abel loved to play guitar and also shared his talent by teaching kids to play. His singing voice was very unique and will be dearly missed. Abel loved traveling and a spur of the moment road trip was always his favorite. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, gardening, building, and just hanging out with friends. Abel took pride in his work; was known for his dry wall work and painting. His favorite was working as a camp ground host in the summertime. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family and he was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Abel is survived by his wife Jennifer Salazar of La Jara, Colorado, his children Krista (John) Salazar-Espinoza of New Mexico, Brandon (Lyndsey) Horine of Normal, Illinois, Tifffany (Asta) Valdez of Manassa, Colorado, Nathan (Sarah) Clarner-Horine of Owtowa, Illinois, Nicholas (Samantha) Jaramillo-Horine of La Salle, Illinois, his grandchildren Jaelynn Espinoza, Kallie Horine, Anicia, Ayanah, Uriah, Jr. Valdez and Mateo Horine. His siblings Sergio (Amy) Salazar, Steve (Anna) Salazar, Sandra Fritz, Sharon (Albert) DeHerrera, Maggie (Dwayne) Marquez all of Alamosa, Colorado. Along with numerous nieces nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sergio and Sadie Salazar, his son Abel S.M. Salazar, grandson Abel Trae Salazar, brother Sam Salazar, nephews Samuel T Salazar, Cody Fritz, Isaiah, Steven Salazar, niece Mercedes Salazar, brother-in-law Matthew Aldana, and grandmother-in-law Lydia Rodriquez. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am March 8, 2019 at the Feed Store Family Training Center in Monte Vista, Colorado Burial to follow at the Alamosa Cemetery in Alamosa, Colorado.
