Edwin Alhstrom Bohn

Edwin Alhstrom Bohn, age 82 and longtime resident of Monte Vista lost his battle to cancer on September 16, 2015. Ed was born in Beaver, Utah in 1933. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years retiring as a Staff Sergeant. Ed severed in the Vietnam War by giving the gift of movies, radio and entertainment. After retirement from the services, Ed and his family settled in to the San Luis Valley where he became better known as the owner or operator of the Center Cinema Theatre and Frontier Drive In Center, CO. Edwin’s hobbies included fishing in the nearby lakes in the San Luis Valley and landscape photography. Edwin leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Bohn. Nine children: Edwin Bohn Jr., David Bohn, Tommy Bohn, Sandra Bohn, Russel Bohn, Kevin Lyons, Lisa Chavez, Christopher Bohn and Derrick Bohn. Edwin had fifteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is survived by his nephew Norman Bohn and niece Rama Hodges. Edwin is preceded in death by his Father Harold Bohn, Mother Delma Bohn, sister Rama and his brother Norman Bohn. Cremation was selected and a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at the Rio Grande Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Monte Vista.
