Robert L. Krumvieda entered eternity March 2012 in Westminster, Colorado. His family held a private family memorial for him March 23, 2012 in Broomfield, Colorado. When asked about his life, Bob said, “I have lived a wonderful life- I just wish it could last longer.”
Bob was born in 1928 in Denver, Colorado; the son of Court and Eleanor Krumvieda. He graduated from East High School in Denver. He graduated cum laude in Physics in 1950 from Harvard College, where he held the Rocky Mountain Harvard Club Scholarship, and from the Stanford Graduate School of business in 1954. He met Irene White while attending Stanford, who would become his wife. They were married in December 1951.
During the Korean War, Bob served as the ship’s air intelligence officer on an aircraft carrier in hostile action and was recommended for the Bronze Star by the ship’s captain.
During most of 1954, he was assistant to the president of Harbridge House, in Cambridge, Massachusetts; one of the larger management consulting firms in the US.
He was a self employed real estate and shopping center developer, owner and manager and concurrently practiced as a self-employed general corporate financial consultant, serving clients in Denver, Englewood, Broomfield, Louisville, Boulder, Longmont, and Fort Collins, Colorado and Pheonix, Arizona.
Bob was listed in Who’s Who in Colorado in 1966-1967edition. He was a former member of Denver Estate Planning Counsel, Harvard’s Rocky Mountain Area Schools and Scholarship Committee, Denver Athletic Club, Board of Directors of Red Seal Inc., and Denver Society of Crippled Children and Adults.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Irene, and children Karen H. Hoiland, Court E. Krumvieda, Robert Kent Krumvieda; grandchildren; Eric Hoiland, Shannon Hoiland, Krista Hoiland; Kirsten Krumvieda, Reina Krumvieda; brother Eugene C. Krumvieda from Texas. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golf and the Denver Broncos. He loved Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat Minor.
