Obituary for William "Bill" Hansen

Broomfield resident Harold William “Bill” Hansen died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his home in Broomfield. He was 77 years old.

Bill was born on December 13, 1939 in Highland Park, IL, the son of Alvin C. and Verna A. (Risco) Hansen. He grew up in Highland Park and attended Dondero High School in Royal Oak in 1958. He moved to Denver, Colorado in 1980 and worked as a construction supervisor for A.J. Etkin in Denver for 20 years.

He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Alderson on June 6, 1981 in Denver, CO.

Bill enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time at their Log Home in Grand Lake with family and friends.

Preceding Bill in death were his parents, and his daughter Shelley Hansen.

Surviving family members are his son H. William Hansen, Jr. and his wife Dannette of Clarkston, MI; daughter Cheryl Hansen of AuGres, MI; step-daughters Rhonda Swetnam and her husband Broc, Deanne Fowler and her husband Paul; brothers Kris Hansen and Phil Hansen both of Denver, John Hansen of Lakewood, CO and Paul of Wheat Ridge, CO. Bill also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, at Rundus Funeral Home in Broomfield at 12:00 noon. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM until time of service at Rundus. Burial will follow in the Broomfield Community Commons Cemetery, Broomfield.
