Alfred Cole Obituary

Alfred E. “Opa” Cole, age 75, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, passed away on July 3, 2011. Alfred was born on January 28, 1936 in Lancaster, Kentucky, a son of the late Maynard and Rhoda Clouse Cole. He retired as a Master Sergeant from the US Air Force after serving 26 years and then retired from the Postal Service after 19 years of service. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 38, VFW Post #3917. He loved working on his computer, watching western movies and sports on the television and collecting National Geographic magazines. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Alfred is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosi, a son, George Steven (Velina) Cole, a daughter, Patricia E. (Steven) Crowe, a sister, Rosalee Lawson, 2 brothers, Anderson “Tom” Cole and Maynard Cole, sister-in-law, Edna Simpson, 6 grandchildren, Angela (Brandon) Lauret, Jesse Cole, Valerie Crowe, Sara Crowe, Megan Cowe and Holly (Scott) LeMay, 3 great grandchildren, Cameron, Gracie and Elijah, brother-in-law, Georg (Erika) Schuelein, nephew, Thomas and his family and a niece, Andrea and her family. Mass of Christian Burial was at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Security, Colorado. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Evergreen Cemetery 1005 South Hancock, Colorado Springs with military honors by the High Frontier Honor Guard from Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs.
