Artiemelia Bauer

Artiemelia “Artie” Bauer, age 71, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1952, passed away on January 15, 2011 in Colorado Springs. She was born on July 20, 1939 in Dallas, Texas. She was a graduate of Colorado Springs High School and Blair Business College. Artie had worked as a social service aide at Hillside Community Center and had also worked in food service for District 11. Artie was also a member of Peoples United Methodist Church. Affectionately known as “Artie”, she was the delight of many gatherings. She loved to entertain her family and friends with stories, jokes and dancing. Artie always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special events of all of her friends. An angel has joined the ranks of heaven where she will carry on her role of sharing love, compassion and happiness. Artie is survived by her husband, Ronald C. Bauer, her mother, Ruth E. Gray, 3 daughters, Carmelia Davis, Denise Hayes, Andrea Birdlow, 2 sons, Derrick Davis, Dwight Davis, a sister, Ruth M. Lawson of Springfield, Ohio, 8 grandchildren, Eric Davis, Toussaint Davis, Morse Davis, Cassandra Birdlow, Alex Wright, Wayne Birdlow, Arianna Birdlow, Michael Hayes and 9 great grandchildren. She is survived by special niece and nephew Meredith R. Lawson-Rowe, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Vernon O. Lawson of Snellville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac O. Daniels. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, January 21, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home 1830 E. Fountain Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
