Benjamin Ortiz Chavez Jr., age 45, passed away on December 24, 2012 in Colorado Springs. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on October 25, 1967 to Benjamin Ortiz Chavez Sr. and Mary Y. (Matta) Nick. Benjamin is survived by his mom, Mary; step dad, John; 2 sisters, Irma Martinez and Rebecca Thompson; 2 nieces, Rachael Sandoval and Renee Martinez, and a nephew, Steven Martinez Jr. He is preceded in death by his Dad, Benjamin Ortiz Chavez Sr. and a sister, Katherine Chavez. Benny loved family gatherings and the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. He had instant recall of every birthday and anniversary date in his circle of family and friends. He loved shopping and lunch with his mother and was always quick to be there for anyone in need. Benjamin was a loving son, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
