Beverly Miller Colorado Springs, Colorado Obituary

Beverly Miller

Beverly Jo (BJ) Miller, age 59, united with the angel choir of heaven on April 21, 2011. Beve was born October 1, 1951 in Colorado Springs and graduated from Palmer HS in 1969. She was preceded in death by her step-father and mother, Richard and LaVonne Vermillion. Beve retired from the Pikes Peak Library District where she served over 20 years. Other jobs included Alexander Film Company, Mesa Verde National Park and Colorado Springs National Bank. Beve attended college at David Lipscomb College, Oregon College of Business and Oklahoma Christian College. The joys in Beve’s life were drawing, painting, journaling and singing. She sang with the First United Methodist Church choir for 24 years and also helped with the Cherub (children’s) choir and 1st and 5th grade Sunday School classes. Beve’s beautiful voice and love of singing allowed her the privilege of singing with both the Soli Deo Gloria and Colorado Springs Symphony choirs. Beve was a restless Colorado Springs native…she lived to travel! Beve chose Ross Castle on the shore of Killarney's Lower Lake to have her ashes scattered next May. Beve leaves behind her sister, Lynda Long of Oklahoma and brothers Richard, Donald and Ron (Janice), all of Colorado. She will be greatly missed by her nephews, Justin (Jennifer) Long, Kevin Miller and Brian Miller; and nieces, Becky (Daryl) Willmon, Karen Miller and Angela Miller. Beve is also survived by her great nephews Nathaniel, Isaac and Silas Long; Elijah Willmon and great nieces Makenzie and Esme’ Willmon. The family would like to thank her friends who supported her throughout her illness and reserve a special thank you to Merle Sickbert, Beve’s adopted PaPa and great friend! In lieu of flowers Beve wishes donations be sent to the Music Ministry, First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903. A celebration of Beve’s life will be held on May 3, 2011 at 10am, First United Methodist Church.
