Charles Houchin

Charles W. Houchin, age 80, a lifetime resident of Green Mountain Falls, Colorado passed September 25, 2010. Charles was born in Lamar, Colorado on October 12, 1929, son of the late Orville G. and Zella Lee Houchin. He was the owner/operator of Houchin, Inc. Charles loved to hunt and fish. He was actively involved in building the Community Building in Green Mountain Falls. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the American Legion. He served on the Manitou Springs School Board, was a founding member of the Green Mountain Falls/Chipita Park Fire Department and a member of it's District Board, and served on the Town Council. Charles is survived by wife Carolyn; a son Curt (Carolyn) Houchin; 2 daughters, Caren (Randy) Smith, Cristin (Phil) Byrne; and 3 grandchildren, Kerry Houchin, Lauren and Weston Smith. He was preceded in death by 7 siblings. Memorial Services were held at 2:00PM Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Church in the Wildwood, in Green Mountain Falls. Donations can be made to the Green Mountain Falls Fire Department or the Community Building Fund through the Church in the Wildwood.
