Christopher Rush Colorado Springs, Colorado Obituary

Christopher Rush

Christopher John Rush, 42, of Colorado Springs, died March 25 of cardiac temponade while skiing at Monarch Mountain on a beautiful “blue bird” day. He was born Oct. 9, 1970, in Kansas City, Mo., to Dr. Larry and Julie Rush. He grew up in Colorado Springs. Chris worked with his father as a dental laboratory technician since 2002. His work allowed him to create fangs and costume teeth, one of his many passions. A borg from Star Trek, the Joker, and Freddy Krueger were among his creations. Most recently he had started pursuing an additional career in voice overs, on radio and television. He was very passionate about his conservative values advocating for the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, which he felt were paramount to his kids’ future. Above all else Chris lived for his three children, Ali Smith, Adam and Jacob Rush and his grandson Cillian River Crowe. Chris also enjoyed teaching tricks to his beloved Jack Russell, Petey. Friends said of Chris that he was a creative vanguard, on the cutting edge of everything, who left “quite the legacy.” He was a confessed Christian. He is survived by his parents; brothers Paul Rush of Colorado Springs and Ben Rush of Salida; daughter Ali of Russellville, Ark.; two sons Adam and Jacob of Colorado Springs, grandson Cillian, his grandmother Lucille Rush; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
