Cleon Dilwood Obituary

Cleon John Dilwood, (Junior) was granted his angel wings on September 10, 2011.  His final days were spent surrounded by family.  Cleon's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.   Cleon was born February 14, 1957, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He was one of five children born to the late John and Ophelia Dilwood.  Cleon accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized.  He attended public schools and graduated from Manitou High School.  Soon after graduation, he joined the United States Army, and after four years he was honorably discharged.  Cleon held various jobs during his lifetime.  However, later in life he took great pride and joy in the taking care of his sister (Diane) with whom he lived with. Cleon enjoyed cooking and listening to his music.  He found great happiness in sharing his love of Christ, talents, gifts and goodness with others.     He leaves to cherish his memory: three sisters, Carolyn Brodie of Twenty-nine Palms, California, Patricia Collins, of Denver, Colorado, and Diane (Robert) Phillips of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  One brother Richard (Patrice) Dilwood of Atlanta, Georgia, ad host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.   PSALMS 23:   THE LORD is my shepherd;                        I shall not want                        He makes me to lie down in green pastures;                        He leads me beside the still waters.                        He restores my soul;                        He leads me in the paths of righteousness                        For His name's sake.                        Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,                         I will fear no evil;                         For You are with me;                         Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.                         You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;                         You anoint my head with oil;                         My cup runs over.                         Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me                          All the days of my lie;                         And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
