David Harbin

David LeRoy Harbin, 73, of Colorado Springs, passed peacefully at home March 7, 2016 to be reunited with his wife of 45 years, Kathleen Rae (Earley) Harbin (1944-2010). He was born Dec. 4, 1943 in Victor, Colorado to Doletta Velma Fisk and Clarence Lester Harbin. David worked for the City of Colorado Springs Water Dept., then retired from El Paso County Department of Transportation retiring after 30 years as a highly skilled snowplow operator. He has five surviving children, Kelly [Ferren] Matthew (David), Jody Harbin (Mechelle Morris), Loren Harbin (Darryl Walker), Scott Harbin (Sarah Oelker) and Stacy Haruna (Ibrahim) and ten Grandchildren,, Justin Ferren, Britton Ferren, Brandy Harbin, Ciaran Harbin, Faolan Harbin, Merida Harbin,Nathan Harbin, Marissa Harbin, Olivia Harbin, and Azaria Harbin Haruna. He is survived by his sisters Delauna [Dee] Maloney and Wilma Holloman. Preceded in death by his brother, Fred [Bud] Harbin and sisters Doris Horst, Virginia Zitnik and Donna Ellsworth. Memorial services will be held at Fellowship of the Rockies,1625 S. 8th St. CS,CO 80905 at 11 am on April 2, 2016. A potluck reception will be held following services until 2 pm at this location in the Fellowship Hall. David enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as exploring Colorado from the drivers seat of a car. He admired John Wayne and loved old western movies. Raised during the end times of the Cripple Creek Gold Rush, he was resourceful, hard working and believed in common sense. He was a quiet man of integrity with a strong sense of family. His beloved wife, Kathleen, was his world.
