Dennis Lee Jones 65, went to be with the Lord on March 7, 2013. Dennis was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on August 23, 1947, to Clayburn and Lorene (Renie) Jones. After graduating from Elk City High School in 1965, Dennis attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Dennis also served in the United States Army. Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Nana Ormand, on June 23, 1967. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1972. Dennis was employed by Harrison School District 2 teaching and coaching football, basketball and track, Sears and Home Depot. Dennis retired in 2011 to enjoy a little bit of golf, some golf and more golf. Dennis was a passionate Oklahoma Sooner fan. Dennis is survived by his son, Brian, and wife, Heidi, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; granddaughters Charlee and Piper Jones of Canon City; and grand puppies Thelma and Louise. Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Lance, on October 31, 2009, and his wife Nana, on February 28, 2011. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2013, 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd. Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 4:00 PM at Evergreen Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers, memorials can be made to the Charlee and Piper Jones Donation Fund through Wells Fargo Bank.
